Chapter Summary

This appendix of the book The Business, Life and Letters of Frederick Cornes Aspects of the Evolution of Commerce in Modern Japan, 1861-1910 contains William Gregson Aspinall's family tree. Frederick Cornes is an exporter of silk and tea and an importer of textiles. The Frederick Cornes is steadily diversified into property and agencies in which shipping and insurance are of prime importance. His enterprise was also to change its structure on account of the fact that his original equal partner, William Gregson Aspinall, became seriously in debt and Cornes was dissolved. Frederick then continued as the principal of Cornes and Company but always included a number of minor partners.
