The partnership's major exports from Japan during this period consisted of many different types of silk and tea. Examples of the purchase and selling prices of these commodities are included together with a note of the firm's constituents and brokers in London and New York. Its imports at this time were mainly composed of textiles and yarn and some indication of the mark-up on these items and of their supplies in the UK is also provided.
