Chapter Summary

This chapter gives an overview of the changes brought by China tidal wave in Beijing at the Central Military Commission, the Temple of Heaven, Headquarters of the Nanjing Area Command, Zhongnanhai, and Chinese Missile Base 0142. Curfew was in force and the wide street outside the Central Military Commission had been cleared and cordoned off for the green helicopter troop-carriers to land. The attack from Taiwan had been sudden and rapid. In the park of the Temple of Heaven, as in other special parks, visitors are asked to leave at dusk. Once Beijing agreed to the Alliance's demand for independence, the Taiwanese would have no reason to continue their aggression. Armed groups of ethnic minorities have come out in rebellion in other provinces. Contrary to normal practice the report gave an analysis of the military situation and admitted that there was no possibility of organizing an effective counter-attack.
