Chapter Summary

This section of the book contains eight appendices. The first appendix presents a gist of textbook screening standards for social studies subjects, and the second with Chinese and South Korean press reports of Japanese textbook screening results during the 1982 Dispute. The third appendix explains South Koreans' views about the 1982 textbook dispute and foreign countries. The fourth appendix describes South Koreans' like and dislike of foreigners. Reactions of governments and officials in other countries are provided in the fifth appendix. The last three appendices provide public reactions in other countries, the number of newspaper articles on the textbook issue, and Japan's partners.
