The Japanese attack on the Pearl Harbor naval base in the US colony of Hawaii in the middle of the Pacific took place on Monday, 8 December 1941 in standard Japanese time, which was still Sunday, the 7th in the US. A few hours later, Japanese troops invaded Guam.
