Chapter Summary

It was Christmas eve and the writer's family left for her parent's house carrying parcels of gifts and a box of cakes in both hands. It was their established custom to get together at her parent's house and have a party on Christmas Eve. A picture was hanging on the upper part of the living-room wall in a frame. The picture was taken at the Christmas party ten years ago. It was taken just after they exchanged gifts. The postures of the family members of the writer are described when the picture was taken. The writer's family took a picture of themselves, sitting at the same place and in the same pose. The writer's father was absent that year and her mother sat in the middle of the group. Her nephew wanted to take the picture like that in another ten years time.
