Chapter Summary

The author talks about a weeding day that was organized in her community in preparation for the summer festival. The park and flowerbeds around her condominium and the square beside the athletics ground became full of weeds in no time. The author was called for a weeding session several times a year. She discussed about the upcoming repair work of the condo and the finances of managing the condo during weeding and break time. The neighbours used to enjoy the evening breeze together with the author during her childhood. In those days, neighbourly ties were much stronger than they are today. Due to her age she talked casually about beer-drinking with a man she didn't know so well. She had one more neighbour to talk with due to the weeding day.
