Chapter Summary

The author had no appointments with anyone on some days. On one particular day like that, she felt like going out alone. She woke up, took out the rubbish and heard the weather forecast saying that it was going to be a fine day that day although she was in the middle of the rainy season. Her itinerary for the get-away trip was more or less fixed. She popped into a convenience store and bought some rice balls, a bottle of Japanese tea and a bottle of sports drink in Kamakura station. She always finished off her get-away trip with coffee and cake. She planned to make a Japanese-style beef and potato stew for the dinner. She found herself planning her schedule for the next day while sitting in the seat by the window and feeling the movement of the train.
