Chapter Summary

The obligations in respect of national and most-favoured nation (MFN) treatment resulting from Arts 3 and 4 do not apply to procedures "relating to the acquisition or maintenance of intellectual property rights" that are "provided in multilateral agreements concluded under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)". It is necessary to examine which provisions of the WIPO convention law concern procedures for the acquisition and maintenance of intellectual property rights.
