Chapter Summary

This introductory chapter provides a brief overview of the book An Institutional and Normative Analysis of the World Trade Organization. The book is contributed to the debate on World Trade Organization (WTO) reform, with an institutional and normative analysis of the World Trade Organization. The methodology used in the book is primarily observational in nature, and is based on a careful study of primary General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT)/WTO documents in the public domain that have been published in the GATT and WTO Series of Basic Instruments and Selected Documents or BISD, de-restricted documents that are available on-line through the WTO Documentation Dissemination Facility or DDF and from the Stanford University Library, Documentation Gateway in respect of previously unpublished GATT documents. The chapter also outlines the content available in other chapters of the book.
