Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of terms and reference books that are mentioned in the book Law and Politics in Ocean Governance: The UN Fish Stocks Agreement and Regional Fisheries Management Regimes. The book explores the legal and political implications of the Fish Stocks Agreement in five selected regional fisheries management regimes. The regimes include Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO), North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC), Joint Russian- Norwegian Fisheries Commission, South East Atlantic Fisheries Organization (SEAFO), and Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC). The concepts used in international fisheries law, regional and sub-regional organizations, direct cooperation and other arrangements leave the institutional design of regional fisheries management largely up to the specific context of the fisheries and the discretion of the states involved.

Keywords: International Law; Joint Russian- Norwegian Fisheries Commission; North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC); Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO); SEAFO; WCPFC
