Chapter Summary

This chapter serves as a reference tool for further research on Ibn Kammūna. Included are all works of which he is known to be the author or that have been attributed to him. Each entry gives the title of the work, together with a brief description of its contents, and contains references to relevant bibliographical sources. Editions, translations, commentaries and studies are indicated, and the location of manuscripts of extant works, together with brief descriptions is also given. All extant manuscripts of Kammūna's writings have been traced and described, and as many manuscript copies as possible have been inspected. The abbreviations used in the chapter for manuscript collections and catalogues and for bibliographical references are explained. As Kammūna says in the introduction, the commentary al-Ishārāt wa-l-tanbῑhāt of Ibn Sῑnā is heavily indebted to the commentary of Naṣῑr al-Dῑn al-Ṭūsῑ.

Keywords: al-Ishārāt wa-l-tanbῑhāt; authenticated writings; Ibn Kammūna
