Chapter Summary

PM. Morel offers a different interpretation of the texts, relating to the size of atoms in Democritus system. The principle that Morel designated under the name of 'Isonomy' is formulated by Theophrastus. The smaller the eye sees in the visible point in the teaching of Epicurus, to 'limit' that perceives the thought when it takes as its object the atomic substance. In the philosophy of Epicurus, the shape of an atom is a result of the disposal of its parts. As for Democritus Epicurus differences in size in the atoms are not infinite. Democritus like Epicurus, atoms never exceed the threshold of sensory perception. The original context of the chapter is in French.
