This front matter section of the book Digest of Jurisprudence of the Special Court for Sierra Leone: 2003-2005 contains the table of contents, foreword by honorable justice Raja Fernando, Foreword by Mr. Lovemore Green Munlo and an introduction. The creation of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL) answers the specific request addressed, on 12 June 2000, by Sierra Leonean President Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabbah to the United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan to have those responsible for crimes "of concern to all persons in the world" brought before international justice. The first Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, Mr. David Crane, was appointed by the Secretary-General on 17 April 2002. The first Registrar, Mr. Robin Vincent, was appointed on 10 June 2002.
