Chapter Summary

This chapter talks about the Rule 8 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the statute of the Special Court of Sierra Leone (SCSL). The rule discusses the requests and orders, as amended on 1 August 2003. The chapter discusses two cases and their trial chambers decisions. The first case is of Prosecutor v. Norman for the decision on inter partes motion by prosecution to freeze the account of the accused Sam Hinga Norman at Union Trust Bank (SL) limited or at any other bank in Sierra Leone, 19 April 2004. The second case is of Prosecutor v. Kanu for the decision on defence motion in respect of Santigie Borbor Kanu for an order under Rule 54 with respect to release of exculpatory evidence, 1st June 2004.
