Chapter Summary

The General Conference of the International Labour Organisation decided upon the adoption of certain proposals with regard to the revision of the Migration for Employment Convention, 1939. Each Member of the International Labour Organisation for which this Convention is in force undertakes to make available on request to the International Labour Office and to other Members information on national policies, laws and regulations relating to emigration and immigration. Each Member undertakes to permit, taking into account the limits allowed by national laws and regulations concerning export and import of currency, the transfer of such part of the earnings and savings of the migrant for employment as the migrant may desire.
