IV.5. European Agreement on Regulations Governing the Movement of Persons between Member States of the Council of Europe

Chapter Summary

This chapter deals with the European Agreement on Regulations Governing the Movement of Persons between Member States of the Council of Europe. This agreement shall be open to the signature of the members of the Council of Europe, who may become parties to it either by: (1) signature without reservation in respect of ratification; and (2) signature with reservation in respect of ratification followed by ratification. Instruments of ratification shall be deposited with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe. After entry into force of this agreement, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe may invite any non-member State to accede to it. Such accession shall take effect on the first day of the month following the deposit of the instrument of accession with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
