Chapter Summary

This chapter deals with the Council Directive 2004/83 of 29 April 2004 on minimum standards for the qualification and status of third Country Nationals and Stateless persons as Refugees or as Persons who otherwise need international protection and the content of the Protection Granted OJ 2004 1304/12. Member States shall provide persons recognised as being in need of international protection, as soon as possible after the respective protection status has been granted, with access to information, in a language likely to be understood by them, on the rights and obligations relating to that status. This Directive is addressed to the Member States in accordance with the Treaty establishing the European Community.
