Chapter Summary

The General Conference of the International Labour Organisation recommends that each Member of the International Labour Organisation should communicate to the International Labour Office all information available concerning emigration, immigration, repatriation, transit of emigrants on outward and return journeys, and the measures taken or contemplated in connection with these questions. The General Conference recommends that each Member of the International Labour Organisation should, if possible, make agreements with other Members providing for: (a) the adoption of a uniform definition of the term emigrant; (b) the determination of uniform particulars to be entered on the identity papers issued to emigrants and immigrants by the competent authorities of Members who are parties to such agreements; and (c) the use of a uniform method of recording statistical information regarding emigration and immigration.
