Chapter Summary

This appendix section of this book The Carian Language includes five sections. First section presents a list of Carian inscriptions found in Egypt, Caria and nearby areas in Lydia and Lycia, and Greece. Second section contains the collection of glosses. Thirdly, a list of proper names found in Greek sources is presented. Fourth section includes a table of concordances with other editions of Carian inscriptions. Final section provides Carian coins with Carian legends. These coins form an integral part of the written record, and, in spite of their small size, they are of great importance, as they throw light on various aspects of Carian society and its language in particular. While many coins are without a provenance, some have been found locally and are today housed near their find spots in museums and private collections. Coin legends are obviously related to inscriptions, but there are significant differences between them.
