Chapter Summary

This appendix includes a detailed breakdown of fatāwā issued by Andalusian authors regarding aḥbas compiled by al-Wansharisi in his Miʿyār. Both the number of legal rulings issued by each author and their chronological distribution are indicated. There are 247 fatāwā in total, most of which (227, 91.9%) are found in the second volume, devoted exclusively to the issue of pious endowments, whereas the remaining 20 (8%) are scattered throughout five other volumes. The appendix consists of two parts: a. The criteria followed in order to compile it, as any attempt to break down and classify the legal material included in the Miʿyār requires the taking of specific decisions of a subjective nature which must be clarified and stated. b. The breakdown or inventory of the fatāwā, arranged in periods, in centuries.
