These include: Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms; European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (ETS No. 126); CPT Standards, Part V: Involuntary Placement in Psychiatric Establishments; Recommendation Rec(2004)10 of the Committee of Ministers to member States concerning the protection of the human rights and dignity of persons with mental disorder; Recommendation No. R (99) 4 of the Committee of Ministers to Member States on Principles Concerning the Legal Protection of Incapable Adults; and a list of internet resources; and some practical issues in advocacy. The appendices also include a sample application form of the type that is filed at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), and a sample letter of authority.
