Chapter Summary

This appendix presents five tables that contain basic attributes of the 1997 questionnaire survey. The questionnaire research subjects consist of 248 Japanese residents in Melbourne who can be divided into the sojourner and settler (permanent resident) categories. The sojourner-subjects comprise 86 males and 87 females, while settler-subjects consist of 17 males and 58 females. The first table contains details about their visa categories. The second table contains details about residence periods. The third table contains details about age and sex distribution. The fourth table contains details about educational background. The fifth table contains details about professional fields of the respondents.
