The abstracts, which may be in English, German, or French, are arranged thematically under the following headings: Amulets, Figurines, Coins, Objects such as clay, ivory, bones and stone, and Plants. The articles and books that are abstracted and reviewed are collected annually by an international team of collaborators from over 300 of the most important periodicals and book series in the fields covered. Some of the books and articles covered here include: Beer Barrels from Tel Goren, Ein Gedi; Clay Lamps Shed New Light on Daily Life in Antiquity; A Re-examination of the Inscribed Pomegranate from the Israel Museum; and Masseboth in the Israelite Cult: An Argument for Rendering Implicit Cultic Criteria Explicit.
