Chapter Summary

This front matter section of the book The Dispensatory of Ibn at-Tilmīḏ contains table of contents and acknowledgements. The dispensatory of Ibn at-Tilmīḏ stands near the end of a relatively long chain of inventive pharmacological development in the Arab world, and insofar as clinical pharmacology is concerned undoubtedly marks the apogee of this genre of scientific literature. The dispensatory of Ibn at-Tilmīḏ was “compiled from a number of (other) dispensatories”.
