Chapter Summary

This chapter presents the open discussion conducted at a Conference on international administrative law held in Paris on May 16, 2000. The occasion of the Conference was the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the World Bank Administrative Tribunal. At the Conference, the participants discussed in great depth the topic of judicial review of managerial discretion, as well as procedural and practical issues relating to the work of international administrative tribunals. As concerns the judicial review of managerial discretion, it is reminded throughout the various interventions that all international administrative tribunals have asserted jurisdiction to conduct limited reviews of cases involving the exercise of discretionary power by an administration.
