Chapter Summary

This postscript presents a history of contemporary Chinese literature during late 1970s. Poetry was in service to politics, was integrated into contemporary life, and was at one with the "masses of the people", these were the ideas at the core of contemporary poetical concepts. The folk poetry style narrative poetry written in the liberated areas was established as the direction of contemporary poetry composition.
