Chapter Summary

The question of how the African constructs his reality is relevant to the study of the doctrine of the Trinity. Africans do not construct their reality from the viewpoint of either Neo-Platonism or Philosophical Idealism. African people differ from other people in that they have another way of thinking. This chapter discusses how African people think and organize their reality. It establishes the manner in which the Africans are likely to interpret and therefore access the doctrine of the Trinity. African cosmology researchers have indicated that African people organize their reality according to a specific thought pattern. We need to know the nature of the African inheritance, but such knowledge will only help us to better explain the Christian faith. For instance, this chapter deals with African metaphysics.
