Chapter Summary

This section presents a list of ancient sources including those from Hebrew Bible, New Testament, Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha, and Dead Sea Scrolls, that are mentioned in the book Mediating the Divine: Prophecy and Revelation in the Dead Sea Scrolls and Second Temple Judaism. The book is divided into three sections. The first section analyzes the prophetic traditions found within the Dead Sea Scrolls and associated literature of Second Temple period Judaism. The second section of the book turns to newly emerging revelatory models represented in the Qumran corpus. The third section examines the direct evidence in the Dead Sea Scrolls regarding ongoing prophetic activity within the larger Jewish world and at Qumran, in an attempt to define more closely the location of prophecy in the late Second Temple period and the character of its application.

Keywords: Dead Sea Scrolls; Hebrew Bible; New Testament; Qumran corpus; rabbinic literature
