Chapter Summary

This chapter presents a dialogue between Anselm and Mary. Anselm asks short questions about certain events which Mary answers in detail. As the suffering story is told in the core of the Gospels, the additions in the chapter mainly concern Mary's views on the "passion of her Son". She describes where she was at all times and what she has done and felt. In certain scenes, she adds, she could feel the sword of sorrow in her soul, as Simeon had prophesied. The text ends with a poem and a short exchange of words between the soul and the crucified God. The original text of the chapter is in German.
