Chapter Summary

This chapter is a part of the 119 works from the corpus of the Latin dialogues of the Middle Ages presented in this book Lateinische Dialoge 1200-1400. It presents the title, incipit and explicit as well as information on author, date, textual transmission, editions and a summary of the contents. The chapter presents exchange of words between Sapientia and Discipulus, which is always, especially at the beginning of each chapter, a long monologue with interrupted parts; but these are sometimes in the first or second person. The characterization of persons varies: Sapientia is part of the divine wisdom. Sometimes Discipulus talks like a novice who seeks guidance, and sometimes as an experienced monk. The original text of the chapter is in German.
