Chapter Summary

This chapter presents information on the manuscript which presents the discussion between Catholics and heretics as discussed in Chapter 3.2 of the book Lateinische Dialoge 1200 -1400. This manuscript does not contain the author's name. The text in the manuscript contains long excerpts from the Summa quadripartita of Alain de Lille, possibly from the end of the 12th century. The manuscript presents a debate on the eternity of punishment in hell, in the context of the descent of the "ad inferos". The parts of speech of the heretics are sometimes preceded by a sentence in which the content of his Speech is announced. The author combines information from the first and the second book of the Summa quadripartita (both for and against the Cathars, and the Waldensians). The original text of the chapter is in German.

Keywords: Catholics; heretics; Lateinische Dialoge 1200 -1400; Summa quadripartita
