Chapter Summary

This chapter is a part of the 119 works from the corpus of the Latin dialogues of the Middle Ages presented in this book Lateinische Dialoge 1200 -1400. It presents the title, incipit and explicit as well as information on author, date, textual transmission, editions and a summary of the contents of the dialogue regarding the chronicles of the kings of Poland and the deeds of illustrious princes. It is assumed that the dialogue concerns the Duke of Cracow, King of Poland, Casimir II. The concerned manuscript presents a dialogue between two bishops with the name John and Matthew. There are no data available on made the circumstances of the dialogue, the author says that he only remembered a conversation between an old bishops. The original text of the chapter is in German.
