Chapter Summary

This bibliography section of the book Livelihoods and Landscapes: The People of Guquka and Koloni and their Resources contains a list of reference articles and books. The book attempts to draw a holistic picture of contemporary processes of agriculture and rural development in the Eastern Cape. In so doing, it engages with current academic debates about the dynamics of agricultural and rural development processes in southern Africa. Drawing on unique, empirical material and acknowledging the differentiated nature of local peoples’ responses to externally induced developments the book seeks to give proper recognition to the interplay between internal factors and processes.
