This chapter presents a translation from Latin of Martin Lister's Exercises on the Healing Springs of England, second edition. Lister's work met with great acclaim and was reviewed in the Weekly Memorials for the Ingenious, a publication in the "same format as the French Journal des Scavans". Lister's thoughts on the chymistry of spa waters also had wider influence in the Royal College of Physicians.
