Chapter Summary

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 4, the provisions contained in this Chapter shall not confer legal rights and shall not be enforceable in any court of law, but the principles contained there in shall nevertheless be fundamental in the governance of the State, and it shall be the duty of Parliament to apply these principles in making laws. In this Chapter &t;the existing Constitution&t; refers to the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1978. In this Chapter, the expression &t;existing law&t; means any Act, rule, regulation, order or other such instrument made in pursuance of, or continuing in operation under, the existing Constitution and having effect as part of the laws of Sierra Existing Consitution Act no. 12 of 1978. Section 41 on Offences at sea or elsewhere outside Sierra Leone .
