Chapter Summary

This appendix section of the book Heaven and Earth in the Gospel of Matthew presents a comparative analysis of oὐρανός in the Synoptic tradition incorporating two distinct but overlapping models: the two-source theory of Marcan priority and Q, and Eusebius' Canon Tables. The Gospel of Matthew is such a rich literary and theological work that one should not be surprised that students of the New Testament continue to bring forth from Matthew "treasures old and new". A literary work of such a high caliber as Matthew can develop and maintain many important themes simultaneously.

Keywords: Eusebius' Canon Tables; Gospel of Matthew; oὐρανός
