This article focuses on the publication of a series of interviews by two brothers, Romulo and Remulo Estrada, after a ruthless campaign to rid the countryside of peasant farmers and indigenous communities.The articles alleged among several items that there perhaps existed an agreement between the civilian president and the most powerful army general to sustain the civil strife in order to pass important land reform legislation and that neither individual cared about the indigenous community.This Hypothetical Case was written by Isabel Ricupero, an international human rights consultant who is currently working at the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights in Geneva.
