2001: Pagura Workers' Union et al. v. State of Alta Caledonia Hypothetical Case

Chapter Summary

The topic for the Competition's sixth year focused on the creation and activities of the Pagura Workers Union after they petitioned information about the toxicity of the chemicals with which they worked at their factory.One of the objectives of the Competition was for the participants to define the preliminary objections presented before the Court. The Hypothetical was written by Victor Abramovich, who at the time was the director of the Center for Legal and Social Studies (CELS) in Argentina and who is currently a commissioner at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
