Chapter Summary

This bibliography contains a list of reference books, articles, and other works that have been cited for the book Teacher in Faith and Virtue: Lanfranc of Bec's Commentary on Saint Paul. Lanfranc of Bec was born in Italy in the early eleventh century, but he lived most of his life in Normandy and England as a monk and prominent man of the church. He was known to his contemporaries as archbishop of Canterbury and adviser to popes and kings, but as a young man he hoped to make his most enduring contribution as a teacher. These are the sentiments expressed in his commentary on St. Paul, written for his first monastic classroom at Bec.

Keywords: archbishop of Canterbury; Lanfranc; monastic classroom; Saint Paul
