Chapter Summary

This chapter presents a list of authors names relevant to the conference devoted to the sixty years of standard-setting in UNESCO in the fields of education, science and culture. According to Article 1 of its Constitution, UNESCO was created in 1945 to "contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration through education, science and culture, cooperation between nations in order to further universal respect for justice, the law of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion, by the United Nations Charter of the peoples ".
