Chapter Summary

The development of international rules is one of the main functions of UNESCO. This chapter is a part of the first part of this volume on UNESCO. It presents the various articles included in the Convention adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO against Discrimination in Education. It was adopted as a part of the 11th session, at Paris, 14 December 1960. This Convention was signed considering that discrimination in education is a violation of rights enunciated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The original text of the chapter is in French.
