These principles apply for the protection of all persons under any form of detention or imprisonment. The chapter also discusses the use of some terms for the purposes of the body of principles. Nothing in this Body of Principles shall be construed as restricting or derogating from any right defined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
