Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of photographs related to occur in this book Through the Eye of Time. The list photographs depict the tribal cultures in Arunachal Pradesh. This is the first visual history of Arunachal Pradesh, a state in northeast India bordering on Tibet/China, Burma and Bhutan. Based on archival and field research, it illustrates a century and a half of cultural change in this culturally diverse and little-known region of the Himalayas. The photographs in this book do not tell anything like a complete story; the archival images are reflected through a colonial lens, and the contemporary ones are also selective. But placed side by side, they present, for the first time, Arunachal Pradesh through the eye of time.
