This chapter of the book International Review of Biblical Studies, Volume 53: Internationale Zeitschriftenschau für Bibelwissenschaft und Grenzgebiete Revue Internationale des Études Bibliques presents the summaries of the works of various authors related to the concepts and symbols used in biblical studies. The abstracts, which may be in English, German, or French, are arranged thematically under the following headings: Hebrew and Aramaic words, Greek words, Metaphors, and English terms. The articles and books that are abstracted and reviewed are collected annually by an international team of collaborators from over 300 of the most important periodicals and book series in the fields covered. Some of the books and articles covered in the chapter include: Stories of Forgiveness: Narrative Ethics and the Old Testament; Memory in the Bible and Antiquity; Prolegomenous Reflections on Ophidian Iconography, Symbology, and New Testament Theology, and The Language of Symbolism: Biblical Theology, Semantics, and Exegesis.
