Chapter Summary

This section presents a list of place names, names of individuals, and terms and concepts that occur in the book Britain and Poland-Lithuania: Contact and Comparison from the Middle Ages to 1795. The book presents a new and unexpected history of the relationship between Britain and Poland-Lithuania which politically up to 1795 went in opposite directions. The impact of the Reformation yields comparisons as well as contrasts between Britain and Poland-Lithuania. Initially, both polities showed a degree of moderation in dealing with allegations of witchcraft, attributed to a reluctance to embrace religious extremes by Brian Levack.
