Chapter Summary

This index is the list of names that occur in this book titled The Gramscian Moment. The 'Gramscian moment' indicated in the the book refers not only to the astounding annus mirabilis of 1932, in which Gramsci, deepening and articulating his interdisciplinary and multi-faceted research project, delineates the 'three component parts' of the 'philosophy of praxis' in the notions of an absolute 'historicism', absolute immanence and absolute humanism. The 'Gramscian moment' thus signals the transition from a conception of the state as a 'philosophical event' to the elaboration of a notion of hegemony as a 'philosophical fact'.

Keywords: Gramscian moment; philosophical event
