Chapter Summary

The sKu gsum rang shar is, together with the dByings rig mdzod, one of the most fantastic contributions to the knowledge and practice of the Great Perfection as a whole. It is based on the Akhrid teachings going back to Dam pa ri khrod pa chen po and on the sKu gsum don rgyud, an important tantra discovered by gSang sngags gling pa. The chapter presents text 173, the root-text of the whole cycle. It was written at the behest of Rig 'dzin gSang sngags gling pa, mChog sprul g.yung drung and mKha' 'gro bde chen dbang mo, among other students of Shardza Rinpoche. The chapter also talks about text 176. This work describes the practice of forty Magic Wheels or yantras aimed at progressing in the practice of gTum mo itself. The instructions given in this work are to be practiced after having completed the thod rgal retreats.
