Chapter Summary

Besides the fact that writings in the field of logic are classified differently, that they treat different issues in the field of logic differently, and that they vary in what they encompass, all these writings have unique general structure that springs out of the elementary concept of logic as a whole, as seen by Arabic Aristotelians. It should be said that this chapter is presented in the order of the texts that are used as references for this book, and that this is divided in four units, a division evident in the referential texts. First, subject, method, and objective of logic (from introduction and foreword), second, teaching of notions (assumption and objectives), third, teaching on judgment and fourth, teaching on conclusion. The chapter then presents elementary issues in the field of logic, and points out the assumptions, teachings and theories that logic is grounded in.
