Chapter Summary

This chapter presents the texts which are the complete correspondence of eight long epistles, four by Vidal Abenvenist and the four replies of Solomon De Piera. All of the texts are indispensable for the comprehension of the epistles, and they have to be edited and studied together. Each of these different elements is numbered. The literary study of this exchange of letters should address the following aspects: (a) the kinds of different elements or types of texts that form the corpus and their specific functions; (b) the organization and harmony of all of the texts within each letter, or within each literary unit, if we include its correspondent epigraph; (c) the interrelatedness of the sent and received letters and the study of the corpus as a whole.

Keywords: Solomon De Piera; Vidal Abenvenist
